Charminar is not just a monument, it is an amazing element of Hyderabad’s unique historical, social, cultural, and economic characteristics. Subtle loose persian forms have been used in this monument. It is a glorious specimen of Indo-Islamic architecture. The arches and domes of Charminar exemplify Islamic architectural styles. The Charminar has high minarets that soar 48.7 meters off the ground and a crossway. The balconies and exterior walls were adorned with much more intricate plaster flower ornamentation, influenced by the surrounding Hindu architecture, making this beautiful building a fusion of two harmonious civilizations.

Domain of honor
Charminar is rightfully called the place of reverence as it provides an opportunity for soul searching and peace. This amusing domain of honor has over 45 prayer spots and the central courtyard which has a tiny vazu with a fountain for pre-prayer purification. According to the history, it was said that Charminar was built to mark the end of a terrible disease that had ravaged the city. Charminar was sanctified as an acknowledgement to the divine goodwill by a sultan with a heart of thanks who prayed to Allah for redemption.
Karbala, the Battle, is so closely connected with the genesis of Charminar, that it is commemorated in honour of the Prophet Muhammad’s son-in-law. According to French travelers’ accounts, it may have been built as part of an Islamic millennium revival movement. It is said that the Hyderabad’s founder, Quli Qutub Shah laid eyes on Bhagmati at site where now it was Charminar. Now he even built this beautiful building as a permanent remembrance of that romantic link.
